Helldesk Rule 45 - Computers Obey Your Instructions Not Your Intentions - www.helldeskrules.com
[X]
A computer will never stop and say, “Are you sure? This looks a bit dodgy.” Your computer isn’t your mate. It doesn’t “know what you meant”.
It doesn’t “understand what you were trying to do”. It follows your commands with the enthusiasm of a golden retriever and the judgment of a brick.
It will simply execute the exact sequence you gave it, even if that sequence is the digital equivalent of driving into a lake because the sat‑nav said so.
Machines don’t do vibes, nuance, or telepathy. They do exactly what you typed — including the typos, the wrong folder, and the button you swear you didn’t press.
